Sylo Nozra is a Toronto artist making soaring R&B, crisp and composed yet as universally soothing as a warm washcloth to the forehead. His new song "Right Here," premiering today on The FADER, showcases the sound he finessed on 2016's this_era EP: emboldened pop melodies that instantly weave through your brain, balanced with traces of The xx's beatific guitar lines.
Over email, Sylo Nozra described the all too common feelings of digital detachment that inspired the song. "I felt as if I was disconnected from certain feelings that can only happen through genuine relationships, but I was experiencing something more synthetic... it was starting to get difficult to draw the line. I've become so distracted by the internet and shit. Been fantasizing about those nostalgic vibes I got as a kid, this was an attempt to try and reconnect to that in some way."
