Justin Bieber On Pulling His Purpose Tour: “I Want My Career To Be Sustainable”

The singer told Instagram followers that he cancelled the live dates to focus on his “mind, heart, and soul.”

Justin Bieber has said that ensuring his long term future was key to his decision to pull the remaining dates of his Purpose Tour last month. "Unforeseen circumstances" were blamed when the announcement was made, with affected a run of stadium shows across North America scheduled for December

However, in an open letter published on Instagram. Bieber went into more detail as to his reasons for axing the dates. “I’ve learned the more you appreciate your calling the more you want to protect your calling,” he wrote. “Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE... I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind, heart, and sould to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be, and the father I want to be.”

It's been a rollercoaster summer for Bieber, who found out in July that he is banned from China due to "bad behavior." Shortly after the Purpose Tour was pulled, the singer reportedly hit a photographer with his truck while leaving church. However, in more positive news, his appearance on Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" helped the song become the most streamed track of all time.
