Gucci and Dapper Dan have opened a new brick and mortar boutique in Harlem, the legendary designer announced on Twitter on Wednesday.

"A sign of the times. For the 1st time in history, a major luxury brand store has opened in #Harlem," Dapper Dan wrote, along with a picture of their billboard. "With made-to-order garments for your taste & in your specific measurements, I will create your design from your mind, or come up with a design for you."

Gucci announced plans for the store, as well as a capsule collection from Dapper Dan, in September. The announcement followed accusations that the brand had stolen Dapper Dan's '80s designs during a fashion show in May. Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele later described the move as "an homage."

Dapper Dan's original Harlem store, famous for selling items with unauthorized brand logos in unique designs, opened in 1982 and closed down in 1992.
