Ariana Grande has been open about the fact that 2018 has been an incredible year for her professionally, but personally trying. The singer took to Instagram to share her reflection on the last year with her 141 million followers.

“Farewell 2018, you fuck. I hope this new year brings you all much laughter, clarity and healing,” Grande captioned the selfie. “Be gentle with yourselves and each other. if we made it thru this last year, we’ll for sure make it thru this one.”

Earlier this month as Grande accepted the Billboard Woman of the Year award, she noted that the previous 12 months had been the “best years of my career and the worst of my life," like referring to the end of her engagement to Pete Davidson, the death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and continuing to deal with the aftermath of the bombing that took place outside a Manchester tour stop in 2017.
