Hear Slowthai’s new NME Awards-referencing song “Enemy”

His first new single of 2020.

May 11, 2020

Slowthai has released his first single of 2020. "Enemy" is, at least in parts, a reference to February's NME Awards, where the Northampton-born rapper made headlines for his behavior towards host Katherine Ryan and the altercations with the crowd that followed. If the song's title wasn't enough of a tip-off, the track opens with a clip from The 1975's Matty Healy speech at the show: “Everyone send your thoughts to Slowthai. Fuck knows where he is, but God bless the boy. Fucking nightmare.”

Slowthai released his debut album, Nothing Great About Britain, last May. Read our interview with him here, and stream "Enemy" at the top of the page.
