The Weeknd drops remix of Lana Del Rey’s “Money Power Glory”

The Weeknd has shared a long-lost remix of Lana Del Rey's "Money Power Glory" on the latest episode of his Apple Music Beats 1 Radio show, Memento Mori, as Pitchfork points out. An edition of the show commemorating his debut album Kiss Land, the show featured a handful of outtakes and rarities from the era, the remix included. Had it been released, the remix of "Money Power Glory" — the original of which appeared on Lana's 2014 album Ultraviolence — would have been the duo's first collaboration, and been followed by 2015's "Prisoner" (from The Weeknd's Beauty Behind The Madness); 2016's "Party Monster" and "Stargirl Interlude" (from The Weeknd's Starboy); and 2017's "Lust For Life" (from Lana's album of the same name.)

The Weeknd and Lana's friendship goes way back: it was once speculated that the pitched-up vocals on The Weeknd's "Lonely Star" were Lana. (In reality, it was The Weeknd's vocal, pitched-up.) Explaining their connection, The Weeknd once said "I feel like we’ve always been talking to each other through our music. She is the girl in my music, and I am the guy in her music."
