Italian B-movie king pin Dario Argento's wee one, Asia, done all grown up. Tonight at the New York Underground Film Festival, AA is presenting her take on JT Leroy's novelita, The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things. Ain't that the truth, tho? Here's a great example: we were trying to sneak into the Coral Room when it first opened up because really, mermaids? It seemed exciting at the time. JTL was waltzing in with pushy retinue and the line seemed tedious (at best) so the crew just tagged along, deceitful-like. It was a moment for irony and despair for hearts everywhere.
Also, if you didn't know, the movie stars the following people: Marilyn Manson, Henry Fonda, Winona Ryder and Jeremy Sisto. The other people have all won Academy Awards (I think) but Sisto may be fondly remembered as the man who played Jesus in made for TV miniseries a couple of years back. Also I think he was on a couple of episodes of My So Called Life, or like, Cradle 2 the Grave. Wait, was that a show?
