FADER Florida

March 24, 2005

Mass pop culti memories might keep Scarface as the go-to recollection when it comes to Miami, but as far as we're concerned, it's going to be MIA autographing her ish of The FADER for 14 year old girls at an Urban Outfitters in-store appearance yesterday afternoon, only to hit the FADER/Triple5Soul/Turntable Lab jump a few hours later and kill it (while a Burberry-blazered Madlib looked on, no less), with a set that included Arular faves, Piracy Funds Terrorism remixes, and a ton of new versions and rewinds - now that the album is actually out, shit is really, really on. We'll be thurrr to post about it, no doubt.

SA-RA Creative Partners put it down as well, with a bizarro live show that featured DJing, triggering samples and live drums on an MPC, and dropping samples from Napoleon Dynamite, all while one of the dudes was on stage shirtless in a Burger King crown. Those dudes also managed to perfectly art-direct their stage lighting so that it'd be identical to their 12" sleeve for "Double Dutch" - FOCUSED, PEOPLE!
