Platinum Plus
- story THE FADER
Last night, while we scarfed aMAYzing slider hamburgers and vegan empanadas, Wajeed from Platinum Pied Pipers DJed the Diesel U-Music party at this South Beach hotel penthouse. The party classics he spun were fine enough – the Police’s “When The World Is Running Down” and Soho’s “Hot Music”? That is, how do you say, our shit – but then at the end of his set, Waj brought out Tiombe Lockheart to sing live on “Stay With Me”. It was flavorful. Then Osunlade came out – with his signature bone-pierced septum! – to flawlessly drop all sorts of soulful house reworks (”Umi Says”, “Ordinary People” and more) while we shook it down in between burger breaks.
