Challah Back

Beyond being a pretty good idea for brunch, Bagels And Bongos is the first release from the Reboot Stereophonic label that launched today (you might have caught something on it in the papers). An offshoot of the culturally-minded organization Reboot, the new label is unearthing a series of Latin Jewish hybrid albums that were recorded in the late fifties and sixties. Irving Field's Bongos features Latin music in the Jewish style, while upcoming releases include Gershon Kingsley's God Is A Moog, featuring Jewish religious songs composed for the legendary synth, and Joe Quijano's self-explanatory Fiddler On the Roof Goes Latin. Mazel tov!
