Week In/Out
- story THE FADER
Cot damn, it’s Snowman season. Like, really – frosty! But we’re not going to let the crisp-type weather deter us from living the life and being out and about this weekend, and nor should you. Here’s some bundle up-worthy weekend events for your consideration.
The raging sound of populism that you will hear raging out of the Big Apple Saturday comes courtesey of Ted Leo & the Pharmacists. Leo and Co. play Webster Hall that night. Get ready to believe. The following night at Webster, beards come alive when Iron & Wine play with Calexico for some introspective, Southwestern-type folk/mariachi bliss.
Chicago heads should try and check out the post-Unicorns hijinks of Islands. Be the first (or second, depending on your hood) to be that dude who says, “Man, I saw Islands in ‘05. Get a late pass, Dun!” They play the Beat Kitchen Friday night.
Westside folks are blessed with nice weather and tobasco hot jams this weekend. Saturday night De La Soul raises the stakes at UCLA’s Royce Hall. And at Largo, Kanye-collaborator, Sunshine-soundtracker and all around bro, Jon Brion, will be laying doing grooves. If it’s anything like the show we saw it will be sizzling. Enjoy!
