In The Queue

In tough times like these it’s important to still get your ha-ha on, and this week there are plenty of new DVDs to provide guffaws, chuckles, bonafide LOLs and however cyborgs express joy. Selections now available for your home viewing pleasure include recent comedies The 40 Year-Old Virgin and The Baxter, classics like Airplane: The “Don’t Call Me Shirley” Edition and the original non-singing version of The Producers, the seventh season of The Simpsons (crucial joints include “The Simpsons’ 138th Show Spectacular” and “22 Short Films About Springfield”), and Roger Corman’s camp classics Rock ‘N’ Roll High School and the unintentionally funny Death Race 2000. Also, there’s a new director’s cut version of early-century Mark Wahlberg vehicle The Yards. We’re not sure what the deal with that one is, but in concept “director’s cut version of The Yards” sounds hillarious.
