Audio: Kardinal Offishall & Clinton Sparks, Do The Right Thing
- story THE FADER
Longtime FADER fave and recent KONNNNVIIIICT MUSIIIIIC signing Kardinal Offishall just dropped a new ’90s-themed mixtape with Clinton Sparks called Do The Right Thing. You can download it here. The execution is genius on so many levels, from the use of Spizike’s jazz soundtrack and dialogue samples to the Sparks/Sal Photoshop job on the cover, but really we’re just fucking with it because Kardi is an amazing MC and there’s no way for him to sound bad over Cypress Hill beats. It’s not all throwbacks, either – there’s a new cut called “Graveyard Shift” with Akon rapping (?!?) – but in the spirt of the mix, take a listen to Kardinal and our dude Daytona murderizing East Flatbush Project’s immortal “Tried By 12″ instrumental.
