We were going to start this post by saying how much we missed Madlib but then remembered he put out that Yesterday’s New Quintet album this month, so let’s just say a week without Otis Jackson is like a week without beef jerky. Coming at the end of next month is another in his Beat Konducta series, Vol. 3 & 4: Beat Konducta in India (following Vol. 1 & 2: Movie Scenes), this time with Madlib training his turntables on the best of Indian theme music. Stones Throw put it to some old Bollywood scenes for their promo vid (above), but we think taking the sample track “Masala” (below) and syncing it with the Darjeeling Limited trailer (here) is just as much fun.
