NY: SEASONS GREETINGS

September 28, 2007

Usually we mourn the end of summer with a bunch of bourbon lemonades and a half-assed game of wiffleball, but this weekend, Downtown New York has us dusting off our huaraches one last time in order to trek to Tompkins Square Park for the “End of Summer Jam,” brought to you by the folks at Off Bowery and MDP/Sense (or whatever it says on that flyer). If we took cues from the jams of the last three months, our ideal end of summer sendoff might feature friends like T-Pain, Wayne, Animal Collective and the Tough Alliance, but the likelihood of that ever happening is roughly equivalent to the likelihood of a giant LV travel duffel stuffed with unmarked ten thousand dollar bills falling from the sky, so we’ll take what we can get, yahmean? Namely: Beans, ARE Weapons, and Gang Gang Dance—along with a couple of other buddy bands like Sahra Motaler and Mod Rockets—jamming from noon onwards, until the last drop of summer has been drunk.
