Remember how in middle school, you would go to a school dance and all the dudes would stand on one side of the room and the girls would stand on the other and everyone wanted to dance with each other but it was way “cooler” to hang by the streamers and eat an oatmeal raisin cookie that you thought had chocolate chips in it but totally didn’t while a non-stop succession of jams were being played, and then all of a sudden you look over and there are these two people that somehow just got everyone dancing because they were like “fuck it, this is a dance, we should actually dance.”
Sammy Bananas’ promo mix for his upcoming High Top Fades EP (on Fool’s Gold) is the musical embodiment of those two people ie living, walking jams that kept shit going until your parents came and stood there waiting for you to finish dancing vaguely near someone.
