Last night, we listened to this song in many permutations to decide which one was best: clean version (”Groupies and Patron”), the dirty version, or the dirty version on headphones. Dirty on headphones won out pretty quickly because of the stuttering bassline undercurrent running below the horn sample. Between this and “Dey Know” we can always feel like we are in that one Chips Ahoy commercial from when swing music was cool and the cookies danced down stairs.
