Freeload: DJ Wonder’s Isaac Hayes Mix

We were sad to hear that Isaac Hayes passed away this weekend, and offer the all our condolences. But the best way to celebrate the man’s work is through his music. Cue DJ Wonder, who put together a live mix of Hayes’ material for the Shade45 Morning Show that spans everything from his original works to songs that sampled his original works—acting as a both a primer for the uninitiated and a reminder that he wasn’t just Chef on South Park. Hayes was responsible for some of the most epic deep-voiced funk and soul jams ever, and, even though you’ve probably heard all these songs before, this mix should remind you why he became an icon.
