Huntsville, Alabama’s G-Side pop onto our radars every so often, usually with a song produced by Mali Boi and/or the rest of the Huntsville production team The Block Beataz—both of whom we met during our story on Paper Route in FADER Number 51—and usually featuring an impossibly cheesy pop sample flipped in to the most emo Southern rap you’ve ever heard. “Speed of Sound” is from G-Side’s upcoming mixtape/album Starshipz and Rocketz, and we’re pretty sure the whole thing will be full of lighter-waving anthems like this one.
