When the trailer for Trae‘s upcoming animated series materialized yesterday, we had a long office talk about bad ideas. What didn’t come up in our discussion, though, was “Grey Cassette”, a DJ Screw tribute track from Trae’s upcoming Streets Advocate mixtape featuring Bun B and Lil Keke. Between the cartoon, this song, punching Mike Jones and having an entire day dedicated to him, it’s hard to believe that only two years ago we were trumpeting Trae as a relatively unknown talent.
