Live: Levi’s®/FADER Fort NYC Day 1

October 23, 2008

By the time Chairlift hit the stage at The Levi's® FADER Fort NYC, we were already trying to stifle our "PLAY THE IPOD SONG" yells. Somehow we kept our mouths shut long enough to actually hear that song (called "Bruises"), and realize how they sometimes sound a lot like Annie Lennox and how awesome that is. For the rest of the day, we went nuts for The Muslims' "Beside Myself," which is something of an office favorite, drank Bass Ale and Southern Comfort while watching Crystal Stilts pull off the most simultaneously disaffected and catchy set ever, saw Mexico City's Los Fancy Free perform minus a bass player, and (responsibly) drank a couple Sparks to keep up with Sebastien Grainger's hour-long epic of a closing set. That's not even mentioning the DJs throughout the day: Jamal Ali, Queen Majesty (who remembers that "Notorious" is still a great song), and Radioclit, who kicked things off with DJ Mujava's "Township Funk," all kept things moving between sets. Stay tuned for more coverage from The Levi's® FADER Fort NYC, and check out some pictures from Wednesday after the jump.
