Joyriding is the act of stealing a car, rallying it under the nose of the authorities, and then abandoning it. In our current issue, FADER 58, Dublin-native Ross McDonnell documented the lives of these Joyriders: Irish youth living in the hollowed-out slum known as Ballymun. The images capture the wreckless abandon of the working class youths amidst burning cars, police sirens, and drug abuse.
