Slideshow: Joyriders by Ross McDonnell

Joyriding is the act of stealing a car, rallying it under the nose of the authorities, and then abandoning it. In our current issue, FADER 58, Dublin-native Ross McDonnell documented the lives of these Joyriders: Irish youth living in the hollowed-out slum known as Ballymun. The images capture the wreckless abandon of the working class youths amidst burning cars, police sirens, and drug abuse. As an extension of the photo essay in the magazine, McDonnell narrates through his experience in the above FADER.com exclusive slideshow.
