On The Street: The Dramatic Scarf
- story THE FADER
As the lights went up in the Y-3 igloo that had been specially created for the Fall 08 fashion show last February, we experienced an overwhelming urge to nosedive five rows down onto the runway. It was a huge scarf that did it, wrapped around model Irina Lazareanu like some hungry plaid anaconda — an accessory we obviously needed to wrestle with right there, right then. Over the past couple of months we’ve spotted other people piling on the fabrics with ponchos/scarves/shawls (the plaid one after the jump is Yohji and the black cape is Rick Owens), cleverly keeping the warm versus cute ratio on an even keel. Remember the more drama with this one the better.
