FADER TV: Open Bar with Benjy Ferree

January 30, 2009

Benjy Ferree makes music that sounds as at home at a soda fountain in 1955 as it does at a bar in modern day East Village New York. Incidentally, he recently performed acoustically for FADER TV's Open Bar series at Heathers. We could go on and on about how his album Come Back to the Five and Dime Bobby Dee Bobby Dee (out 2/17 on Domino) is a great rock record full of monster hooks and quiet bouts of nostalgia-laced vocal quaver, but instead we're just going to tell you to watch the video above and take note of the painting behind Ferree, which was recently stolen from the bar. If you've seen it at your friend's house, or you just know that your sister has it, now would be the time to return it to its rightful place.
