RCRD LBL Freeload: Mi Ami, “New Guitar”
- story THE FADER
It’s not a stretch to imagine San Francisco’s Mi Ami as twisted versions of James Brown, shouting falsetto phrases over some of the most agitated guitar jitter we’ve heard since the Brian Eno-produced No New York compilation. In less nerdy terms, “New Guitar” from the band’s album Watersports (Out Feb. 17 on Quarterstick) is alienating, weird, totally listenable and could probably spark a pretty fucked up dance party in a gross warehouse.
