No doubt times are rough for the fashion industry with New York’s upcoming fashion week schedule starting to resemble an interpretive Excel spreadsheet of Swiss cheese. We try to keep our chins up by frequenting the sample sale circuit and delving deep into our fashion world studies, but when we see the smaller labels struggle, that feeling of hopelessness starts to creep in. One of our favorite avant-garde New York designers, TELFAR, has hit one of those rocky fashion week hiccups and will be hosting a benefit for the F/W 09 collection this Friday the 6th of February. Enticing us with $3 well drinks, DJ sets by the designer, DJ Kingdom and a special surprise performance after midnight could be just the remedy for our trampled spirits. The benefit starts at 9pm and goes until triple question mark (???) and will be hosted at Carol’s Loft at 154 E. 2nd Street in the Lower East Side. While we’re not really sure who Carol is (we suspect she’s the fairy god mother of fashion week) we’re pretty sure that TELFAR will show you a good time in exchange for a little indie fashion love.
