Freeload: Loj f. Quan Doe, “Kick Make Love (Living Single)” MP3
- story THE FADER
Has it been that long since we rode for a rapper from Queens? A decade may have passed since we pondered a reception of aborted Lost Boyz fam side projects (RIP Freaky Tah), but as of this mp3, there may still be hope yet. “Kick Make Love (Living Single),” which does indeed sample the theme song from the Fox sitcom Living Single, is the first look from Queens rapper Loj’s upcoming Theme Music mixtape. The song, with it’s drunken horn chop and after six drum kicks, sounds like something from the Native Tongues camp circa “rap’s golden age,” but for all the right reasons. We’re not sure what he has in store next (crossing our fingers for Saved By The Bell: The New Class), but he’ll be releasing the the rest of the tape song by song at thinkloj.com in the coming weeks.
