Freeload: Warpaint, “Elephants” MP3

We emailed LA mystics Warpaint after listening to all the songs on their MySpace page and having a psychic revelation that they ruled. We were like, Yo, what’s you guyses [sic] deal? And they were like, We are collectively a libran cancerian lioness with a bit of geminiacal insanity and scorpionic fire. Seriously they did, how awesome is that? They also sent us this phoenix-on-the-mountaintop of a track, and told us they are touring the West Coast before Manimal Vinyl re-issues their EP this fall. If you are on that coast, you should really go see them and report back, we are totally jealous. But because we’re not spiteful, we put the tour dates after the jump.

  1. Club Spaceland » Sunday 08.09.09: Manimal Vinyl presents WARPAINT / CAROLINE WEEKS (of Bat for Lashes) /CORRIDOR / UNIVERSE Says:

[...] “Exquisite Corpse” is the debut release from Los Angeles fuzzy, cosmic heartbreak quartet Warpaint. The record release is out very soon on Manimal Vinyl. Sitting at the lofty position of Number 1 on the Hollywood Amoeba Records Independent releases chart earlier this year, it’s a collection of magical psychedelia drifting over sublime moments of raw melody courtesy of the three free ethereal vocalists Jenny Lindberg (her sister Shannyn Sossamon used to play drums in the band), Emily Kokal and Theresa Wayman. Kinda Sonic Youth and Cat Power with more Los Angeles nightfall…. Reviews of their live shows are just as gushing (“probably the best show I’ve seen this year, fucking gorgeous…” is a quote from a review of their Troubadour gig with now tour mates Moonrats) and their email banter is pretty sporty too. – Dazed Digital [...]
