Video Premiere: Donnis, “Clermont Lounge”

We caught our first glimpse of Donnis about a year ago when he was tearing down this cruddy SoHo lounge from an impromptu stage of a couch cushion while a not-quite-famous-yet Ryan Leslie played hypeman. Then he kind of just disappeared off the rap radar. Well, before there was an actual Rap Radar anyway. But he’s back now. And apparently he’s spent the time out of the limelight handpicking under-appreciated Bubba Sparxxx jams and shooting treatments for them with breakout direction team, Motion Family. The Clermont Lounge looks seedy enough to be the ATL component to where we saw him perform in New York (apparently, one of its elder employees can crush beer cans between her breasts of strength), but “Clermont Lounge” is a pretty clean look from his upcoming Diary of an Atlanta Brave, one of those album before the album mixtape albums or some such. In the meantime you can download some newer Donnis material in the form of his “Snack Pack” here.
