Bombay Bicycle Club, “Dust on the Ground” (Tanlines Remix) MP3

July 21, 2009

Bombay Bicycle Club sounds like the kind of band you've never heard of that you later find out has sold 400,000 copies of their debut album and has a lead singer who was on American Idol who is no Kelly Clarkson. But only 27,000 people have watched the original version of "Dust on the Ground,", not the 4.2 million that would indicate Idolatry. Plus, they've been in Dollars to Pounds a couple times so they couldn't be too popular. Tanlines' most watched YouTube only has 6,000 views. Negligible differences, maybe, but symbolically significant. Of what, not sure. Maybe of the fact that Tanlines' version of "Dust on the Ground" is slightly more than four times better than Bombay Bicycle Club's and is sure to be heard slightly more than four times less. What was that other pre-Jonas Brothers Nickelodeon show with the kids in the apartment with parent musicians? Some analogy like that works. Not sure if Jonas Brothers were a TV show first.
