Stylee Fridays: Black Frame Spring 2010 Men’s Preview

August 14, 2009

If we had to pull together a dream team of the best and brightest in menswear today, we would recruit just about every brand represented by Black Frame. The New York creative agency opened their doors to the press this week, and Malkiel (pictured and wearing Acne shirt, Woolrich shorts and OC boots) and Poppy (too shy to be pictured) gave us the tour of their spring 2010 menswear collections, with new offerings from Opening Ceremony, Adam Kimmel, Woolrich Woolen Mills and Acne. Besides digital lookbooks or catwalk pics, previews like these are the first time we get to run our fingers along the racks, and see a collection front to back. Check out the styles we've have pegged for next year after the jump.

Opening Ceremony, Men's Spring 2010
So many pieces caught our eye in this collection it was literally burning a hole on the digi-cam memory card. The art-splash men's shirt were probably the out-and-out winner of the afternoon, although there are plenty of great light outerwear pieces and accessories too—in other words OC might just be the one-stop men's shop for our closets next year. The Pendelton X OC collaboration continues in to the spring with a lighter twist on the classic winter warmers.

Woolrich Woolen Mills, Spring 2010
Designer Daisuke Suzuki took his inspiration to the beach for spring 2010. The '80s surf revival has been creeping back in for a couple of seasons now, but WWM goes a decade or so deeper with corduroy shorts and and two-tone vests in '70s palettes.

Adam Kimmel, Spring 2010
If you haven't watched artist Meredith's Danluck's "Continental Cowboys" video for Adam Kimmel then we suggest you do that first. Then come back and take a second look at this epic cowboy-inspired onesie.

Acne, Men's Pop Classics Spring 2010
Acne's cleverly curated collection of classics just seems to get bigger every season, and adding a denim biker jacket to the list of perennials isn't such a bad idea at all.
