Khalif Kelly’s Hyper Colors

August 24, 2009

29-year-old native Nashvillian, Khalif Kelly, has a solo show at Thierry Goldberg Projects in New York on September 9th but is currently restructuring our childhood memories with his weirdly comforting, intensely colorful depictions of things we did daily like chill at fast food playgrounds, play crappily animated video games and build mid-size megalopolises out of Playmobil people. It's unclear which, if any, of the paintings above and after the jump will be in the exhibition, but judging by his work over the last two years, it will be awesome regardless. Plus, we're just going to print these out and tape them to the wall anyway. (via We Love You So)
