It's feeling very Los Angeles in New York today since the wet blanket of recent jungle heat decided to lift itself off the figurative bozack and you can actually go outside without instantly looking like a glazed donut. It's hot, but crisp with a little breeze, just like coastal California, which is perfect timing for the latest volume of LA-based HVW8 podcast, this time with the swirly, synthy rap/funk/jazz/electro/r&b/other stuff band the Hawthorne Headhunters. Podcast is a bit of a misnomer, though, since this is actually a live recording of the band playing HVW8's Spaulding Avenue gallery space. Nice loose jamming and good vibes from the group whose self-titled EP HVW8 recently put out. Blast while the sun is out because the next thing you know we'll all be wrapped in 19 layers to keep from freezing our things off.
