Lindsey Thornburg gave up designing minidresses to follow her true passion: cloaks. Small wonder then that when we spoke to her a few seasons ago the conversation revolved around superheroes and magical force fields. Although originally from Aspen, Colorado, the NY resident (there is a picture of her after jump modeling one of her own designs) works with moody street life in mind, and her sweeping outerwear is what she calls “a piece of security” and a “shield from the madness.” She launched an online store earlier this week with a slew of new cloaks in limited vintage fabrics to fuel our snuggly winter fantasies. There’s a stunning full-length piece in embroidered Balinese material and even a collection of mini cloaks for kids.
