Sally Potter’s Rage Goes Live, Jude Law in Drag

September 22, 2009

Episode one of Sally Potter's Rage went up on Babelgum yesterday, and in the spirit of her new film—shot as if on cellphone, and the first feature to be distributed for free on mobile devices—we watched it on our touchscreens last night. Potter is best known for making Orlando with Tilda Swinton, so it's no surprise that the British director managed to get Judi Dench, Dianne West and Steve Buscemi in on her stylish murder mystery, peppered with high fashion piss-takes not seen since Zoolander. Model Lily Cole makes her acting debut in the film, but you'll have to wait until webisode six for a full character breakdown, when Lettuce, her model alter ego, tears off the black wig and turns on the waterworks. And since Jude Law spends the entire movie in drag—a super bitchy catwalk queen by the name of Minx that you can literally carry around in your pocket—Potter has also inadvertently created the best mobile application ever.
