It’s that time again! We’ve got a handful of tickets to give away to this year’s Treasure Island Festival, being held October 17-18 and including festival stalwarts The Flaming Lips, MGMT, MSTRKRFT as well as surprising guests like Bob Mould, The Walkmen, Vetiver and more. The Flaming Lips, Edward Sharpe, Bob Mould, Brazilian Girls. I went last year and had such a blast. One of my top 2 festivals. Would love to go again!

This festival has the best lineup on the West Coast since Coachella!
This year’s MGMT: Passion Pit AND the actual MGMT! The Streets, MSTRKRFT, Grizzly Bear and a little band knows as the Flaming Lips!

It would definitely have to be the Flaming Lips. Followed closely by Girl Talk. Gillis can kill HUGE areas, and I’ve seen him shut down by security before that “Goodies” sample ends more times than I can count.

I’m most excited to see those 2 guys dressed up like Freddy Kruegar! They go by MSTRKRFT, pronounced “MSTRKRFT”, and kind of have a Daft Punk-meets-Daughtry sound. They are going to make you dance your FACE into weird exxxxpressions.

Girl Talk…the last time I saw him, I got onstage and he came and put his arm around me. While we both rapped Big’s “Juicy” verse, someone handed him a beer, which he then proceeded to pour over himself and me. A sticky, stinky, sweaty good time was had by all.
And how could I not be stoked to see YLT? Grizzly Bear’s pretty incredible, too…..GAH! GIMMEGIMMEGIMME!

Dan Deacon again, loved his show in DC at 9:30, he had us singing along, doing weird slo-mo dances, and generally spazzing in the best possible way.
i’m pumped for Girl Talk, MGMT, Passion Pit, and DEFINITELY Grizzly Bear. Plus I’ve always meant to get into the Flaming Lips, so concert tix will force me to get to know their stuff.

Missed out on last year’s Treasure Island and will not make that mistake again…free tickets or not! Grizzly Bear is a big deal for me, and Passion Pit, , Beirut, and Brazilian girls..wooooeeee! Not sure I have the dough for two days, but I swear by my unemployment that I WILL find a way.

just saw PASSION PIT at ACL in Austin while standing in mud up until my ankles, and was AMAZEEEEEEEEEEEEEED how AWESOME they are

I work for a massive retail website that is currently in the middle of a major website relaunch – on 10/18 we have the largest deadline in the history of our company and I am willing to miss/potentially be fired our last weekend workload day to go to this show.
Let me reiterate – I am lying to my boss about something majorly family related/important so I can see the epic-ly amazing Flaming Lips. I’m 26 and I’ve been yearning to see the FL since I was 13…that’s a solid 13 years to wait for this show! Please send me to them!

I have been desperately waiting for a year for GIRL TALK to return to the bay area!! ahhhhh!! I heard he’s killer. I cant wait to break out the body paint!!! I’m moving to Japan in a few months and this is probably going to be my last chance to go to the Treasure Island music festival. I’m also dying to see MGMT, MSTRKRFT, The Streets, MURS, Flaming Lips, MGMT MGMT!!! I just want to dance alllllll day! Awesome line-up. These tickets will definitely be in good hands!!!

I’d say I’m definitely most exited to check out Girl Talk again, but the line up looks like so much fun, I;m actually probably more exited to get my mind blown by one of the lesser known groups and perhaps get a new fave! hot damn i would love to see, EVERYONE! but the Saturday line up is kind blowing my mind right now. Not to long ago i bought a 50 dollar ticket to see MSTRKRFT here in San Francisco and it was very crowded, i ended up knocking someone over with my backpack while letting loose on the dance floor. A bouncer saw the whole thing and as i was helping the poor person up, i was then rushed outside, where they kicked me out! They thought i was to drunk with wasn’t the case. so i would love the chance to see them for real this time, since i was ejected about 20 minutes after i got in. Also i am a huge fan of passion pit and my friends (who are all going) have told me that girltalk was the best show they have ever seen!! in all please PICK ME

Would love to see bands at either day, but I must admit my current favorite album is Oracular Spectacular by MGMT. Can’t get enough!! Flaming Lips are always sweet to see live too, last time I saw them at the Greek and they had Santas and aliens on stage, nice!

My god, I can’t believe that I still haven’t been to a single Treasure Island Music festival after living in the Bay Area for over three years. Oh wait, I CAN believe it since I’m a BROKE ass starving musician. This year’s lineup is the best yet. I’m most excited to dance to the beats of GIRL TALK, PASSION PIT, and MSTRKRFT as well as bob my head to the beats and lyrics of MURS and CROWN CITY ROCKERS. It would be awesome to finally see some of my musical influences live such as the WALKMEN, GRIZZLY BEAR, and the FLAMING LIPS.
