Video: Kanye West and Spike Jonze Make a Short Film

So either the whole Kanye at the VMAs thing was a massive publicity stunt (what up conspiracy theories!) or dude just has a real quick reaction time when it comes to figuring out how best to respond to any one of the hundreds of accusations that get thrown his way every day. We Were Once a Fairytale, the Spike Jonze-directed short features a drunk Kanye getting a little Larry David while trying to pay for a complimentary bottle someone sent over, Fonzworth Bentley shoving a dude, a sequence where he walks around the club asking if people know that the song that’s playing is his before half passing out on a woman’s shoulder. From there it gets pretty surreal so we’re not going to spoil it, but If this is what happens to Kanye every time he’s had too much to drink then sign us up?

Wow…that was an experience. Big up to Spike for shooting and directing so well. And big up to Ye for executing the performance so well.
