Being a good Canadian I watched it in the back row of a theatre when it came out, then when I was apple-packing in a little dusty town in New Zealand, I saw glorious Atanarjuat collecting dust on a Blockbuster shelf so I rented it and made my hostel-mates watch it with me. They hated all three hours of it but I promised them that someday they'd thank me for enculrating them. Probably that moment will come when they have to run naked across a frozen tundra and they come up to a lake are like "whoa, can that floating ice floe support my weight?" and then they're like "oh yeah, that guy in that Atanarjuat movie did it, so it must be cool."
