Premiere: Lee “Scratch” Perry, “Santa Claus”

This is where Lee Perry goes PoMo/topical with his ode to Santa and Mickey Mouse over a skipping, clapped-out riddim, stoner-bong guitar riff and lava synths that seem like some new form of soca-trance. Lyrically it is either a statement on the pukiness of mass consumerism, or portends apocalypse with Santa as the harbinger. He also yelps, “Yee Hawwww!” which is awesome. We can only pray we are as inventive and ludicrously outfitted as this dude when we are his age. Also, are you aware that he is fond of Blingee .gifs? Can he possibly be more excellent? He’s also going on tour pretty soon, check the dates after the jump.
