As World Cup 2010 approaches, we’re getting more and more excited for all the disparate soccer hooligans of the globe to get a taste of South African culture, even if it is only in between drunken brawls. While FIFA may have chosen a Canadian-Somalian’s song as the theme for the World Cup trophy tour leading up to the tournament, we’re here to fully back BLK JKS for the actual anthem and “Molalatadi” wouldn’t be a terrible choice if they can’t jam a brand new original. The song finally got a video, directed by Jamie James-Medina, which cuts scenes of the band chilling in Coney Island with clips from James-Medina and Matthew Salacuse’s South African train surfing documentary from last year, though ghostriding the metro will probably be discouraged during the festivities. Hey Fader, Jamie James-Medina didn’t direct this video. He wasn’t even at either of the shoots in NYC nor was he involved in the editing. He’s basically lying. Check your sources (and by that I do not mean Jamie James-Medina).
Check your sources, this video was not directed by Jamie James-Medina. Give the credit for an awesome video to the people who actually directed, edited and produced this video. Your web site lacks credibility when you publish incorrect information. Peoples careers and livelyhood are at stake, do not misrepresent the truth.
Guys, rather than saying “check your sources,” why don’t you offer a correction? Seeing as we put BLK JKS on the cover of our magazine, it would be odd if we were to misrepresent them in any way no? Jamie co-directed “Sanza Hanza” and I have not seen anyone else credited for this video, but if you have, please feel free to share.
Chell Stephen directed this video.
Thanks Gabe. And Nadia Hallgren shot the Soweto footage.

No one lied, just an error that has been resolved. This crew was nothing but harding working & honorable folks. No hard feelings, thanks everyone for your concern & understanding!
Apologies for the flippant post. All’s well.
