The first time we heard about Egyptian Hip Hop we were like, Whoops! There is a band called Egyptian Hip Hop and they probably sound like a bootleg Gang Gang Dance. Then we actually listened to them and found out they are young British dudes making lilting pop songs that sound like Morrissey singing to a bunch of twinkling stars. They’ve just thrown “Nifeo”—a collabo with LA Priest—onto the internet, and it’s an 11+ minute dark drum circle jam (in the truest sense of the word). Basically, this is how we initially thought the band would sound, only way better.

It should work now. Thanks for writing.
This was soooooooooo dope. I would love to hear more of them. It’s funny because this is so out of my comfort zone with music.
Wickedly absorbing, fused and remote. Tangled with cold, clear Northern colour. Continue to turn up the heat of your creative spirit because eleven minutes is a mere lick of the salt-block foundation.
Egyptian Hip Hop will play @ NME CLUB ROME.
Init club (Rome, of course)//15th April
