Afrikan Boy joyously repping Nigeria and/or posing as a travel agent is a good look for today since the President of Nigeria, previously missing for six full weeks, finally proved he did not croak. (Shout to Fawzia for putting us up on the situation.) Of course, it’s always a treat to get something in our inbox from this dude, who apparently found his visa long enough to use it in this video. Hope it’s not the real one, we’ve heard there are mad shady people out there on the internet who might try to borrow his identity for nefarious ends. This track is from the forthcoming 1444 Musik, which drops this summer.

Dude I love him at times but his raps or so gimicky about that fact that he’s Nigerian as a real Nigerian and music afficiando it gets really annoying, and offensive. It’s like someone italian saying “it’s a me, mario!” for an entire song. The last good song I remember him doing was “I go chop am” with Zakee Kudoro. Name dropping things about your culture just for the sake of it gets old. You just sound like a stupider version of rapper The game after a while.
Um… yeah, so that dude in the BBC interview WASN’T the president – it was an impersonator. I’m waiting for video footage of the dude before I believe he was alive. As for Afrikan Boy, I’m with Ibra. it works because he’s targeting the American and UK markets. I doubt he’d be all that popular in Nigeria.
ahhhh….Afrikan Boy is doing his thing. I prefer tracks like ‘I go chop am’ as well…but this isn’t a bad effort at all. I like the video too!
