Before there was Four Tet, there was Fridge, the more gentle electronic trio Kieran Hebden called home. On his new Four Tet album, There is Love in You, there are hints of the kind sounds of Fridge, a band quiet enough that they once opened for Low. But on his Essential mix, Hebden hits harder, running through a myriad of house genres, and a bunch of things that could have the -step suffix piled on. He also includes slightly gaudy but possibly prescient fusion group, Weather Report, because fuck it. (via Discobelle)
