Pacific Northwest duo Rainbow Bridge's "Big Wave Rider" was a surprise anthem for the end of 2009 and now they have returned, triumphant, if not a little bit further off keel (not that they were keeled up to start), with "Party Wit Da Godz." They are a band the same way Andy Kaufman used to pretend to wrestle women but then actually wrestle women. It's not that it doesn't make sense but it doesn't make sense. This is a garage rock song about partying with gods. But with a Z. Which is a very underutilized letter in garage rock. Those scenes in Wayne's World where Wayne watches Tia Carrere play guitar through dreamy light swirls, this is what he's really hearing. Party wit da godz/ it's a goddamn party. Not saying, just saying.
