The single disappointment with this Juju and Jordash mix for Little White Earbuds is that they didn't include any of their own music. A completely stellar left-field surprise for us when Andrew Field-Pickering interviewed them for Heal Yourself and Move, we kept IM'ing the column to our more electronic music savvy friends asking if they knew the duo. No one did—yet—and all agreed it was their time to bubble, with very amiable bass lines and a heavy use of the scope of the drum. Most of what is on this mix actually sounds very little like J+J, with possibly the exception of the salsa-ish African horn track towards the end. As if they couldn't avoid a little brass break, J+J started as a jazz duo before morphing into their current state as house-y team, and those buoyant roots will always find a way to float to the top, thankfully not always literally. But, sometimes, thankfully so.
