It's kind of gnarly sometimes, living in New York. We all live in a self-centered asshole bubble and act like everything that happens here matters more than stuff that happens in other cities. That is, of course, not true, but it's an easy mindset to slip into. The only problem is that when you come out of it, however briefly, you just feel like a jerk. The ubiquitous Joshua Wildman makes us feel less like jerks for embracing the messiness involved in living here, capturing New York in his photos and his general amiable vibes. He makes doing whatever you do seem a lot cooler than it actually is. He also has a messy apartment full of photos and now a short video about his work where he drops gems about spending a lot of time in bars so you can actually take good pictures in them. Good advice if you can pull it off. If you see Wildman around, (you probably will if you live in New York and are reading this), say what's up. Or don't if it seems weird.
