Video Premiere: Yuck, “Georgia”

March 15, 2010

Yuck, who are British and probably have never been to Georgia, bury their vocals in guitar that bleeds across chords to make a sloppy slack mess. It is awesome. It also reminds us a little bit of Dinosaur Jr. and later, the first, cautious steps from grunge into what would become known as "alternative." But you know what happened after that? Everyone got obsessed with extreme sports and swing music. It was a weird and confusing time full of 3-D video games that involved racing jet-skis, wraparound sunglasses and big beat (remember big beat?). When people look back the the '10s are they going to be like, Oh man remember when bands recorded everything in their bedrooms and made videos using found VHS footage? That was lame. Boy will we feel awkward. "Georgia" is out today on a single on Transparent.
