"Made Me Medicine" is potentially an anti-breakup song about trying to get someone to stick around at all costs. It's a dicey lyrical road to go down—because it can often come out as needy and therefore completely unidentifiable, but Augustine skirts around it by getting abstract and singing about being "your medical friend from the west coast."
