We Just Listened to Radio Secousse for 24 Hours in a Row

April 01, 2010

Secousse is the monthly party run by Johan and Etienne of Radioclit/The Very Best in cities all over the world but based at London's Notting Hill Arts Club. If you go to it, you should bring a change of clothes because you're going to dance until the ones you're wearing turn into a mushy pulp. They play jams from all points Africa and its diaspora, but until now, our only direct experience was an epic party they threw last year with Janka Nabay in Brooklyn. However, the dudes have now translated the musical vibes to a 24-hour online radio station with no DJs, just music, called, appropriately, Radio Secousse. We just listened to it for an entire day and are pretty sure nothing was repeated, from random Newham Generals cuts to Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe, which is playing at this moment. To be fair, we slept during some of that but we dreamed about flying to parties all over the world and woke up drenched in sweat next to a total babe. INTERNET MAGIC!

Listen to Radio Secousse anytime for as long as you want right here.
