Grouchy Smurf Sweaters by Perks and Mini

April 13, 2010

Aussie design duo Perks and Mini draw from a myriad of madcap references for their clothing line, including extraterrestrial life forms and space travel. The couple rarely give interviews and are super protective of their work, which makes deciphering the secret code behind each collection half the fun. Their newest summer 2010 offering is called the Garden of Earthly Delights, and one of our favorite pieces is a sweater splashed with a very disgruntled Smurf. The poor little dude looks intensely mad in all three colorways, which is troubling (where is Papa Smurf at??!) and strangely awesome, and for some reason makes us want to own the entire series just to figure out why.

Addendum: We looked up our smurf history and turns out Grouchy Smurf was a regular smurf before he was bitten by a species known as the Bzz fly. But like all well-behaved haters, he still had a soft spot for the smurflings.
